I got both positive and negative reactions on my color choice, but I think it looks very 80's, so I like it! She looked incredibly cute, was very though, but became all girly and fiddly when her crush was around! Luckily everything went quite well, but I think it was also one of the reasons why I screwed up during the act. So for this costume to be wearable again, I will have to remake and/or strengthen a lot of parts and to be honest I don't have much motivation for that right now and I prefer to move on to the next project.

I haven't watched Kill La Kill (yet), but I don't see myself doing one of those super-bare transformed outfits if that was what you were trying to say, lol! I started with making this costume for fun, but I was lured into signing up for a cosplay competition with it, so I also had a though deadline where I couldn't remake every part that I wanted from it! Sorry for this incredibly long post, I hope you guys liked it and I hope to also see you at my next blog! Even though the cape and top are seperate parts, I decided that construction-wise it was better to cheat and put them together.Even though it's a very important part when making a costume and something you can't escape if you want to make helmets/armor/props. I did a lot of test rounds at home and was wearing the costume since 6AM that morning without any problems and when it was almost time for me to get on stage (around 3PM) parts started to malfunction, so I got quite stressed thinking "what if something breaks or falls off on stage? I like with Lilith how she comes over as very sexy, but is still quite clothed (she only has bare shoulders). View spoiler Hide spoiler I just re-measure myself every once in a while to see if I didn't get a lot fatter or thinner and see if the mannequin is still good. I'm completely not used to cosplaying cute and shy characters, but what helped was that I was also not 100% comfortable in such a bare costume, even though I was wearing a bodysuit.

To be honest, I couldn't really point out in the design what these were, so I ended up just making small covers to have the effect. And now let's get to the part how not every idea is a good idea and I sometimes think to myself "why did I even try to make this work"? I sometimes wear my helmet or other parts seperately at lazy days on conventions, just because I like how they turned out. So the process you see here happens with at least 3 layers and most of them have to be undercoated in 2-4 different positions so everything can dry well.In some of the newer games and media young Chi-Chi's design has more blue-ish green, so I got quite some comments why I didn't go for that color version, but I think this bold green is a lot better. So, even though I told myself "no more competitions for a while", I signed up for a local competition with this costume. If someone that studied fashion/clothes design or a professional clothes/costume maker sees this, he/she would probably smack me on the back of my head. If I would re-do this part, I would have made the seamline less obvious, but I'm still quite happy with how this turned out!

After being happy with the shape and a lot of sanding, I started measuring out where all the details were going to be. I got a lot of questions from people asking how I the shoulderplates stay in place because there is nothing it attaches to. The first version of the wings were functioning enough, but not that great, so I hope to improve them soon.Normally I'm not the type for video-tutorials (I prefer pictures), but when a friend showed me his Youtube channel I was hooked!
