Joyce’s programs, Enjoying Everyday Life and Everyday Answers with Joyce Meyer, can be seen around the world through television, radio, and the Internet.

But hearing her story and listening to her explain how a person can be hurt and forgive themselves and those who have hurt them in such a relatable way really touched my heart. Meyer shares her story in the beginning of the book and refers to her own healing steps throughout the book.

Let Healing the Soul of a Woman be the first step toward the wonderful, joyful future God intends for you. As I continued, it felt pretty neutral rather than concentrating on the soul of a woman, which is fine. I love how Joyce explained how we build walls to keep others from hurting but in the process we lock ourselves up in the process, because we want to be in control of who and what we will allow to hurt us.

Una de las cosas que más me gusta es que sin llegar a caer en el feminismo, nos indica cuál es el lugar de la mujer en el mundo y cómo puede desarrollar su rol de manera saludable.Joyce’s passion to help hurting people is foundational to the vision of Hand of Hope, the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. In Healing the Soul of a Woman, she shares her story, the story of others who have faced challenges, and Scripture to help the reader grow in their own healing from God. I think it's a great starting point to get women to be more open and honest with themselves and each other. Joyce Meyer, in her book, “Healing the Soul of a Woman, “ gives suggestions on how to overcome emotional wounds; sharing the abuse and suffering that she has undergone in her own life.

Knowing what I do about Joyce's childhood abuse I wondered if I could relate to her experiences, but she demonstrates that even woman who haven't been abused to such extents can be wounded by what they have witnessed, what people have said about them and what they choose to believe about themselves. Our souls are wounded from the terrible things that others do to us, but often we are also wounded from our own sin. I read this book in audio format so I had to go back and replay certain chapters over because they were worth listening to! When we are wounded, we must not only desire to be healed, but we must be willing and ready to be brutally honest with ourselves. As a woman who endured years of abuse, abandonment, and betrayal by those closest to her, Joyce Meyer can answer with a resounding “yes! Readers of Meyer will be familiar with her encouragement to control thoughts and concentrate on God's Word. I started my healing journey two years ago, so this book helped me move even further with my healing journey. This book helped me to see areas of my life that I need to allow God to heal-these areas weren't easily identifiable to me before reading this book. Another reviewer said surely she’d never listened to Joyce’s podcasts and read other books because it’s all laid out.

I grew up in a very religious, evangelical Christian home, and, quite honestly, I can't stand that bullshit now.

Believe we need to understand ourselves, and that requires taking the time to see the motive behind our behaviors rather than merely the behavior itself.
