In reality I don't think it would make much difference as if you look at the pictures both the exhaust and chassis brackets are as wide as the washers. This isn't helped by speed bumps frequently hitting the end of the bolt out of the bobbin and twisting round the exhaust hanger.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. Also if anyone knows the part number and a good supplier in the UK or Europe it would be very much appreciated. The very rear bobbin type mounting rubber on every Mini made until the introduction of a rubber hanger strap in 1992. As far as I can see, I'll need a centre mount and a rear mount (with two bushes) and whatever clamps that'll be needed to hold it up. I checked this before assembling as I wanted to ensure that over the likely range of movement in use the load would be borne by the rubber and not by the bolt "locking" in the holes, which would have imparted large bending loads.I'd worry that polyurethane wouldn't have enough 'give' in it and would strain the exhaust but the machine mount links look good. If I can, I'd like to source the parts myself, then take it to a specialist and get it fitted, but to do that I need to know exactly how it needs sorted and what bits to get.

Ok ive found this as well not using the rubber bobbin setup that you have but uses the fixed set up for the rear mount! It's only supported by one mount at the tailpipe end and by the downpipe at the engine end, and it's very close to the ground (scrapes even when I take the tightest possible angle into the drive). These provide that little bit of extra flexibility that stops exhaust installation being such a pain-in-the-neck job.

Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. PS: I was told off at my initial inspection because the steering rack bolts were upside down and failed dangerous. there should be two rubber bobbins on the rear mount of the exhaust and mid join looks like its just a threaded bar welded to the box.i think you could get an rc40 fitting kit to do the job you want it too, you may have to drill some holes in the centre of the frame to mount the bobbins and the hanging plate - nothign too serious. So on my sample of two - make sure you're not putting the bobbins under unnecessary loading for a good service life. I pivoted the mounting bracket a little and carefully aligned the exhaust to ensure that the two brackets were exactly parallel, which is alwaya a good idea using the original bobbin too. I know I could get a bracket welded to the silencer extending forward but I think it would look mess and I prefer the clean lines of the system as it is. I don't know how but I took a knock to my rear exhaust mount pushing it almost parallel with the ground and pretty much folding the bobbin at right angles.
